This new rule allows you carry two spare batteries on aggregate equivalent lithium content up to 25 grams. Almost all the lithium metal batteries of the consumer type are below 2 grams. However, before traveling it is best to check the limitations as well as the capacity of batteries that you need for travel. These regulations were done in response to fire hazards with respect to lithium batteries.
